Cranleigh Baby Bank – Cranleigh Rotary Club

In October 2020 CRANLEIGH BABY BANK was set up by volunteers to support families in and around Cranleigh. The challenge then, as it still is now, was how the service could reach those that need its support most. It has certainly proved it can and has already supported a good number of families.

The Baby Bank is hosted by Cranleigh Methodist Church. For some time now it has not been able to open because of lockdown restrictions but the volunteers have continued to help families by delivering items needed to them. Thanks to generous donations of clothes and equipment by members of the local community the Baby Bank is able to offer baby clothes for those up to five years of age and has just started adding some items for older siblings. The main aim of the Baby Bank is to provide anything baby related including nappies and larger items of equipment such as Moses baskets, cots, prams and pushchairs.

A CHALLENGE the Baby Bank now faces is to find more space to store donated clothes and equipment as can be seen in the photograph below. The Cranleigh Rotary Club is assisting them with a Fundraising Campaign. The aim of the campaign is to raise enough money to purchase a large secure storage shed. Donations over the £500 TARGET will support this very valuable resource which helps families in the community. “INVEST” now to support them at: www.justgiving.com/campaign/cranleighbabybank2020 or by cheque payable to “Rotary Club of Cranleigh” to: Baby Bank, Twin Peaks, The Common, Cranleigh, GU6 8SE

As soon as it can re-open in addition to providing clothes and baby related equipment it will offer a welcoming environment for families to meet together, have a chat and cup of tea or coffee.
