In this talk, Melanie will discuss the intensely colourful works of a group of artists who first exhibited together in the Salon d’Automne of 1905 and who came to be known as the ‘Fauves’ (wild Beasts). Artists who exhibited under this heading included Matisse, Derain, Rouault, and Vlaminck.
