All welcome to guided, free, sociable, HDC walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn-up at the start point. A booklet containing over 250 walks is available from the Walks Co-ordinator on 07720 714306 or online at www.horshamhealthwalks.co.uk Beginners are recommended to contact the Walk Leader: to discuss suitability. All walks can be wet and muddy in places. Forthcoming walks in the Cranleigh magazine distribution area and neighbouring areas are as follows:-

Fri 7 September 10:00am: Friday Street and Wotton Meet at Friday Street car park (TQ126457). Travelling north on A29, turn Left in Ockley onto B2126 and follow signs to Abinger Common and Wotton. Pass the well on your left at the approach to Abinger Common and almost immediately turn right into Friday Street. The car park is about half a mile down on the right. Join us for this enjoyable 5 mile walk on the Wotton Estate taking 2½ hours with its highs and lows! Some steep inclines to be taken at leisurely pace! Boots recommended especially after rain. Wed 12 September 10:00am: Wisborough Green Meet in the car park at the Village Hall in Wisborough Green (RH14 0DU TQ051258) or around the village green, for a 7 mile flat circular walk with numerous stiles through woods and across farmland on footpaths and bridleways and alongside the River Arun/Canal, passing Lording’s Lock, with views of the South Downs taking 2¾ hours. No dogs please as we may encounter livestock. Leader: Mike 07855 502023

Wed 26 September 10:00am: Shere Meet in the Shere Village Car Park at the rear of Shere Museum, GU5 9HE (TQ073479). Access via London Lane.  An 8 mile circular walk, taking 3½ hours, climbing the North Downs to go west to St Martha’s Church and Newlands Corner (where we can stop for a cuppa!!) and then back to Shere.
