Working from a live model, you will explore a variety of poses, from quick expressive sketches to longer studies that allow you to create more finished pieces. You will learn practical drawing techniques to improve proportion, line, and shading, helping you capture movement and form with confidence.

Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced sketcher, this workshop is designed to inspire, support, and help you rediscover the joy of creativity. All materials are provided, so simply bring yourself. Take a breath from the rush of daily life, and enjoy a few hours immersed in art.

The Alter Eagles are delighted to return to the Cranleigh Arts Centre bringing with them their celebration of one of the best-loved bands of all time. Now in their 23rd year of performing, the band have established themselves as one of the country’s top tribute acts, headlining at theatres all over the country. Playing a mix of old and new Eagles’ songs, all the classics – including Hotel California, Take It Easy, One Of These Nights, Take It To The Limit, Desperado, Lyin’ Eyes and Life In The Fast Lane – as well as Henley, Frey and Walsh solo numbers (like Boys of Summer, The Heat Is On and Rocky Mountain Way) along with some deep cuts, the band have wowed audiences with their faithful tribute to one of the most popular bands of all time.

Virginia Woolf defied literary conventions to depict rich inner worlds – her heightened, startling and poignant reality. Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor leads a luminous artistic team to evoke Woolf’s signature stream of consciousness writing style in this immense work that rejects traditional narrative structures. Woolf Works is a collage of themes from Mrs Dalloway, Orlando, The Waves and Woolf’s other writings. Created in 2015 for The Royal Ballet, this Olivier-award winning ballet triptych captures the heart of Woolf’s uniquely artistic spirit.

Kev F Sutherland has written and drawn for Beano, Doctor Who and Marvel comics, and now makes graphic novels adapted from Shakespeare. Now he’ll teach you how easy it is. Whatever stories you want to tell, Kev can teach you how.

After the end of a Comic Art Masterclass, we all take away a comic containing a strip by everyone in the class plus an individual caricature by Kev F.

Classes are for age 7 and upwards. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.

Get ready for some retro-gaming fun as The Gamers’ Lounge returns to Cranleigh Arts with over 3,000 console games from the 1980s through to the mid-2000s. There will be plenty of consoles and controllers to go around and there will be both single-player and multi-player games, allowing up to four players to compete against each other at a time if they wish.
This event is suitable for all ages but parental supervision is recommended (only players need to purchase tickets). Each session lasts approximately 2 hours.

It is now we must get back in touch with our wild side and learn to care about the incredible creatures we share our planet with. As David Attenborough has said, “No one will protect what they don’t care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced”.

Experience the calming sounds of gongs, singing bowls and gentle percussion in a sound bath for relaxation and wellbeing. Therapeutic sound sessions can have a wide range of benefits for our health and wellness and they are growing in popularity as a natural approach to self-care. Participants bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, eye covering and water bottle to make sure they can rest comfortably during the session. The sounds merge together to create a rich tapestry of sound that is both restful and rejuvenating for the mind and body.

Sound baths are not generally recommended for people with heart conditions, seizures or epilepsy, or in the 1st trimester of pregnancy.
