The Pete Roth Trio features leader Pete on guitar, Mike Pratt on bass, and the incomparable Bill Bruford on drums. Operating in the grey area between jazz and rock, the band creates intimate, interactive and improvised music for a new generation of enthusiasts. Original compositions, such as Dancing with Grace, Full Circle, or Part of the Charm rub shoulders with sometimes radically altered standards and classics from the jazz repertoire. Following on from A Christmas Carol: In Concert and A Brief History of Christmas, GreenMatthews present their new festive show. Spanning several centuries, GreenMatthews’ Midwinter Revels is a celebration of Yuletide Past guaranteed to warm the cockles of the most Scrooge-like heart. Featuring Christmas carols, winter folk songs, toe-tapping tunes and a plethora of weird and wonderful instruments, the show is brought to life with GreenMatthews’ trademark wit and humour.

The Cranleigh Community Choir and Friends Christmas Show is no ordinary choral show! It’s a true variety show with dancers, soloists, instrumentalists, duos and, of course, the choir. This year they will be singing Easy Lover, Goodnight Girl, Need You Now, Big Yellow Taxi, Carol of the Bells and more. On the remote Siula Grande in Peru in June 1985, mountaineer Simon Yates found himself in a desperately unenviable position. He was slowly being pulled off the
mountain face by his injured partner, Joe Simpson, dangling on the rope 50 metres below. His decision to cut the rope saved both their lives in the epic
of survival that followed and with the publication of the book ‘Touching The Void’, later film and stage play, both climbers became household names.

It was an experience that could have put many off the sport of mountaineering – but not Simon. Over 35 years later, he is still a very active exploratory climber and guide, making several expeditions to the mountains each year. From the Arctic to the Antarctic, Alaska to Central Asia there is hardly a significant range that he has not visited.

Live Music Showcase is where local performers book a slot to entertain their neighbours. Launched as a community event, it’s free to watch, so you can sample the special talents of Cranleigh and surrounding areas performing anything from rock to poetry by way of musicals, ballards and synth-pop. It’s the perfect festive event for kids, parents and grandparents, it’s suitable for all ages. Due to the realistic nature of some scenes, we recommend parental guidance for those under 5 years old.

Paul Rich is back with his swingin’ Christmas Show. You’ll be taken on a journey through some of the most iconic Christmas classics, as well as exploring some of the biggest hits of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and Michael Bublé to name a few. There may even be some musical surprises along the way!

From selling ladies-wear in the market, to performing for you in the Arts Centre and wowing international audiences in-between, Paul is excited to make you feel all Christmassy with a show that is oozing flair, charm and heart, whilst being served with a huge dollop of yuletide cheer.
