Memory Lane Update January 2026

Main Photo: Dr Sue Tresman leading the Christmas service

In preparation for Christmas, the Carer Guests at Memory Lane were able to completely relax as they had a special meeting for their benefit. It is called Sound Bar; a Meditation presented to them by Jez Smith. The peace and isolation was such a benefit and much appreciated by all the 24/7 Carers whilst Memory Lane Team  took care of their partners who experience Dementia.

Nearly forty guests and one dog experienced the wonderful “Looking Forward to Christmas”

Service as they entered church to the Melodic sounds of the harpist playing carols. The service led by Revd Susan Tresman was followed with tea and mince pies as guests experiencing dementia enjoyed decorating the Memory Lane Tree ready for the Christmas Tree Festival.

Memory Lane starts back in Cranleigh Arts Centre on Monday 5th January with the Carer Guests having their traditional New Years Party. This is followed on the 19th January with a welcome re-visit from Dr Susan Rasmussen. Being the National Adviser on dementia, Sue will be able to advice both Team and Guests on the latest Dementia Treatments.

Something quite different is planned for the second meeting in February, as on the 19th guests will be able to use the Motoview being brought and operated by Zoe Susijin from the Cranleigh Leisure Centre.

The Memory Lane musicians are planning a concert for April but more about that in future editions.

Memory Lane meets at 2.15pm on every 1st & 3rd Monday in Cranleigh Arts Centre,  then enjoying exercise together, there will be the Walk in the Park at 10.30am on Monday 12th January and every 2nd Monday each month.
