Book Review – Diddly Squat – Jeremy Clarkson

Welcome to Jeremy’s farm. It’s an picturesque spot, offering charming views across the Cotswolds, lively hedgerows, woodlands and natural springs. Jeremy always enjoyed the idea being a farmer. However, while he was travelling around the world having lots of fun with cars than was wholly reasonable, it seemed clear that actual farming was much better left to someone else.

Then one day he decided he would give the farming a go himself. After all, how hard could it be?

Dealing with constant red tape, bad British weather, local concerns and his own astonishing ignorance of how to ‘do farming’, Clarkson soon discovers that getting the farm going round will take something more than splashing the cash on a giant tractor.

Luckily, help is at hand from a large and efficient team, including his girlfriend Lisa. Between them they keenly nurture crops, maintain livestock, bottle spring water and open a farm shop.

Jeremy soon begins to find out that it’s worth more to him than pounds, shillings and pence.
