Cranleigh Camera Club was established circa 1958 and currently has around forty members of various ages and photographic abilities. We have a variety of internal club competitions, talks by members and guest speakers on many varied subjects, workshops designed to improve our chances of good competition scores, trips away both to take pictures and to compete against other clubs, Christmas social evening, and an Annual Exhibition held in the Cranleigh village hall.

Although digital photographers now outnumber film photographers, all are very welcome and no distinction is made between film and digital prints for the purpose of workshops and competitions. Anyone interested in joining the Club need not feel that meetings would be too technical and we invite you to attend a couple of meetings to see if you like us – we never ask people to join the club immediately. Young people are also very welcome to join the Club and take part in its activities (see our Child Protection Policy). www.cranleighcameraclub.org.uk/pages/CPP.html

The Club meets most Thursdays (September to June) at the Baptist Church Hall, 262 The High Street, Cranleigh, GU6 8RT. The church is located at the western end of the village, near the Cranley Hotel and Jewson’s. There is no parking outside the church but ample parking is available in the Sainsbury’s car park. Park at the far end and the pedestrian exit will bring you out behind the church where the entrance to the small hall is located (see the location map in ‘How to find us’). www.cranleighcameraclub.org.uk/pages/how%20to%20find%20us.html

Meetings open at 7:30pm for 8:00pm start and consist of talks, demonstrations, competitions and practical sessions.
Looking towards the future, this year we are planning to hold an under 19 photography competition. The subject for the competition ‘Cranleigh’ and images entered must demonstrate a local connection with Cranleigh in some form, this could be but is not limited to; the countryside, the village and buildings, events or people that live in area. The final date of submissions will be the 26th February 2026 and the winners will be announced at the Clubs Annual Exhibition on 28th March that is to be held in the village hall.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has an interest in photography or would like or enter the competition, no matter what level and who wants to learn more about the subject. Please email: [email protected]
