Street Parade 12.30pm
This year’s Carnival feature is “Morrisfiest” and we are excited to bring together a number of Morris Dancing Groups, to create a truly memorable event. Morris dancing has been a tradition at village festivals for centuries. Groups will dance at various locations around the village during the morning; they will form a colourful and entertaining addition to the parade and then come together in the Carnival Arena during the afternoon to celebrate the joy of Morris Dancing.
There will also be traditional side shows, including Coconut Shy, Splat the Rat, the ever-popular Crockery Smash and Punch & Judy. Plus; Craft stalls, The Brian Burt flower stall, charity stands and showcases for many local businesses.
Events throughout the day include puppet walkabout characters, slapstick comedy, stilt-walker and jester, international hula hoop performer, Bongo drum, Barrel Organ and samba bands.
