Waverley Borough Council offers Godalming community café a new home

A community café that provides a caring and friendly meeting place for the vulnerable officially opened its doors this week at its new home at Waverley Borough Council’s headquarters.

Cellar Camino Café, which is mainly staffed by volunteers, provides a safe and warm space for those in the local community who may need support and friendship alongside their cup of tea or coffee.

The café is used as a referral point from other organisations including GP surgeries and the Citizens Advice Bureau and has a ‘roots and shoots’ project to support other shop keepers and organisations within the town.

The café will be open from Monday to Friday 9am-2.30pm (Tuesdays 10am-2.30pm) and will offer homemade cakes, sandwiches, toasted paninis and more. Current social distancing guidelines will be followed.
