Cranleigh Pétanque Club: New Sponsorship

Cranleigh Pétanque Club announces first ever sponsorship partnership with Lynn Murray & Co. Solicitors.

A new partnership, and an invitation to give Pétanque a try!

Cranleigh Pétanque Club is celebrating its first-ever sponsorship: a three-year partnership with local Solicitors Lynn Murray & Co. that will help raise the profile of both organisations and introduce more people to this welcoming, friendly sport.

The club has more than 80 members and meets every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year, in the grounds of Cranleigh Village Sports & Social Club, right in the centre of the village. Friendly, social play is at the heart of club life, while those who enjoy a competitive challenge can also take part in matches in two local leagues.

The new partnership goes beyond financial support. It brings together an active village sports club, and a firm with a strong local reputation, with the shared aim of increasing awareness of both organisations within the Cranleigh community.

Lynn Murray visited the club on Saturday 5th September to meet some of its members, and see the facilities for herself. The visit offered her the opportunity to celebrate the progress of this three-year relationship.

For anyone who has never tried Pétanque, otherwise known as French Boule, the appeal is simple: it’s a sport for all ages and abilities and a wonderful way to meet people while enjoying a game outdoors.

Players aim to get their metal boules closer to a small wooden target ball, the jack, than their opponents. The basics can be picked up in ten minutes, but the game can take a lifetime to master!

Whether you are looking for a new social activity, a new sporting challenge or simply a reason to spend more time outdoors, Cranleigh Pétanque Club would love to welcome more local people. You don’t need to be an expert to get started: just bring your curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Interested in having a go?
