Bosom Friends: Celebrating One Year

Bosom Friends is a local support group for women who have experienced cancer first-hand. We provide a welcoming, safe space to share experiences, exchange insights and find comfort and connection with people who truly understand.

Our relaxed gatherings are an opportunity to meet other local women who have received a cancer diagnosis, share stories and advice and build friendships.

“The immediate connection and shared experiences made me feel understood from day one.”

Every person’s experience of cancer is different, and wellbeing during treatment and recovery can mean different things to different people. Alongside medical care, many people find support through looking after mind, body and emotional wellbeing, whether through healthy eating, reducing stress, meditation, exercise, time in nature, complementary therapies or simply spending time and connecting with others.

That sense of connection and shared experience is at the heart of Bosom Friends.

Out and about in Cranleigh

We recently joined the Cranleigh Parkrun to raise awareness of Bosom Friends and remind our community that when it comes to cancer support, “it’s not all about boobs!”

Celebrating one year of Bosom Friends

Join us on Friday 16 October, 10am to 2pm at Cranleigh Village Hall for our Wellness Day and to celebrate the first anniversary of Bosom Friends.

There will also be a cake sale raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, alongside local community groups and businesses supporting health and wellbeing. Come along, say hello, find out what’s available locally and celebrate our first year with us.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer and learn more about signs, early detection and research.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Around 59,000 women and 420 men are diagnosed each year and although it is more common in older women, younger women and men can also develop the disease.

At Bosom Friends, we offer a listening ear because we know that wherever you are on your cancer journey, sometimes simply having someone to talk to can make all the difference.

“From WhatsApp chats to wellbeing days, this committed group has helped me grow, heal and feel less alone.”

Come and join us

Bosom Friends meets every Friday, 9:00 to 10:30am at Alpher Coffee, Cranleigh Village Hall. A friendly face, a listening ear and a cuppa are waiting.
