Commemorate the Anniversary of D-Day

A Service to Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings which took place on June 6th 1944 will be part of the Evensong Service on Sunday 9th June 2019 at 6.30 p.m. at St Nicolas Church, Cranleigh.

We will also be remembering other anniversaries that are taking place in 2019:

75 years since the Battle of Monte Cassino –
17 January to 18 May 1944

75 years since the Battle of Imphal –
8 March – 3 July 1944

75 years since the Battle of Kohima –
4 April to 22 June 1944

80 years since Britain declared war on Germany –
3 September 1939

75 years since Operation Market Garden (Arnhem) –
17 to 25 September 1944

75 years since the Battle of the Bulge –
16 December 1944 to 25 January 1945

50 years since the start of Operation Banner the deployment of British Forces to Northern Ireland –
14 August 1969 – 31 July 2007

The Standard of the Cranleigh and District Branch of the Royal British Legion will be in attendance.
